Welcome to my blog! My website has just been remodeled, and as part of it, we’ve added this blog. My hope is to be somewhat interactive with those of you who view my art. I’ve recently discovered that, for some time, people have been visiting my site, and, of course, I’ve had no clue they’ve (you’ve) been here. I hope to change that. I’d like to get to know those of you who take time to visit, and, if you have requests, thoughts etc, to respond as best as I can to those. Are you looking for something in particular, or just browsing? Is there something you’d like to see that I’m not doing? Would you like to talk about purchasing something, but think you’re not ready, or wealthy enough or whatever.
I’m pretty easy to get along with, it’s been years since I’ve bitten anyone, and even then, most survived. There was that one case, but that was very unusual, and, really, I don’t even think it was my fault. Anyway, If you’d like to talk, ask away.
I’d like to get to know you.
For now, I’ll check every so often, and see if there are comments. In the future, I hope to do something a little more formal in the way of monthly musings or whatever.
By the way, if you have painting questions, I’m a pretty fair teacher. Ask away. The worst I can do is give you a bad answer. That’s better than nothing, right?
Well, with the weekend over, I can report that the art fair in Maple Grove was once again successful. I saw some old friends, and met some new ones. Some of my favorite paintings have found homes. Jennifer had to add to her already sizable collection, and get one of my new “beach” scenes for her office. Some of you have checked out the very mysterious half sheet painting I did of the old buildings in Northern France, and Chris has given tha one a home. Michele and Mark decide to take Zonk! so I’ll have to paint another “Carib. joint. I think this one will be BASH!
This coming weekend, I’ll be at Highlandfest in Highland Park, St. Paul. Stop and see me. It’s always fun. Thanks, Dick
Hi Dick,
This is really quite a website! I am looking over the tote bags and am trying to decide if I really need another one, however, where else would I get an authentic bag that my cousin actually painted. They really are beautiful and I’m very honest about this. I will get back to you when I have decided what to get. I do a lot of crocheting/knitting and always need totes to carry around my “projects”.
I wish you well with this blog.
Marilyn
To my cousing Marilyn and all. I should point out that, when I sell paintings, they are all originals. At this point, I’m not doing any prints, and there will never be prints of paintings that I’ve sold with that thought in minde.However. My bags, scarves and tiles are printed. I decided to do the “novelties” so that I’d have a lower priced product. The bags are printed on a fabric that is recycled soda pop bottles, and the images are incredibly good. Each bad has 2 images. The scarves are done by the same company, but on a different fabric, calle Taipai Silk, and its washable. The bags, of course are completely washable, heck, I bet you could fill the darn things with water, hook the handles over a horses ears, and water them.Alsot like the old feed bags. Anyway, just wanted to clarify that. All the images on the printed Items, are of my paintings of course.
Painted at the Arboretum all day yesterday. I did 7 little paintings before leaving and feeling quite defeated. When I came home and looked at them think I learned something. I can’t wait to have an afternoon to repaint some.
Oh the reason I’m responding is to tell you your site looks great. See you Tuesday….for another of your great lessons.
That’s great Pat. Sorry I missed you. My neighbor is a new member of the watercolor society, and called and asked if she could ride with me to painting at the sculpture garden, so we went there and met the group. Of course, I left my phone home with your number etc. I did a small painting, and the read and drank tea. A good day to be out though. Highlandfest starts at 2 on Friday aft. all day Sat and Sun. Will be a full, fun weekend.
